The streets come to life very early. Lively music blasting from street vendors and passing cars before 6am. Preparations were underway for the Sunday flea market just opposite our apartment. Facinating space selling everything you can imagine, dental instruments, a beautiful, highly polished opthalmoscope, that would have been worth its weight in gold in transplant clinic. Also old gramophone players, pots, pans, clothes and the usual stuff.
La Macarena district was half an hour walk from there. Leafy streets of lovely houses, restaurants and yet more murals.
The food market was buzzing with stalls selling soups, fried fish, fish with coconut rice and more. Vendors competed for custom. Loud music, amazing smelling food and colour. Sensational.
Ourwalk out in the evening down the main street to find a bar was interesting. Armed police on the corners and police on motor bikes keeping an eye on all the comings and goings.
Early start tomorrow with a flight to Armenia and then on to Salento.
